Disposable lenses are increasingly popular because they are thinner than ordinary soft lenses and can be relatively easy to care for, or in the case of one day lenses care free. The type you choose depends on suitability, how convenient you want them to be and what price you want to pay. Whatever your choice, at Clarke Opticians we will ensure that you are happy with your choice and happy with your care routines.
Initial fee for all disposable lenses is £25 to £90 depending on the time needed to make sure you have the right lenses for you and that you can use them correctly. This fee includes the initial consultation and teaching on how to put the lenses in, take them out and care for them. Contact lenses can be a serious source of infection if not cared for correctly.
All disposable lenses can be paid for by standing order. Standing order patients are entitled to check ups on demand, an annual free eye test and discount of 20% on spectacles.They can also have a free pair of sunglasses every year. We will also endeavour to sort out any problems you have within 24 hours.
We offer the following types of disposable lenses:
- One day lenses
Are the most easy to care for - insert in the morning, throw in the bin last thing at night - no need for cleaning or solutions. Prices are £25.00 - £47.50 per month.
- Two weekly lenses
Can be worn all day and occasionally overnight. Cleaning them involves a rub and rinse step with the soaking solution and soaking overnight. Prices are £22.50 to £27.50 per month including solutions.
- One month lenses
Can also be worn all day but cannot be worn overnight, with the same cleaning requirements as the two weekly lenses, but because of the longer usage, may need a surfactant cleaner every day as well. Prices are £15 to £25.00 per month including solutions.
- Lenses you can sleep in
Can also be worn all day and can be worn overnight - put them in your eye and forget about them until they are due to be changed. Prices are £25.00 to £32.50 per month.
- Toric lenses
Used to correct astigmatism. Normal contact lenses do not correct astigmatism because they spin around on the front of the eye. Toric lenses come in daily, two weekly or one monthly disposable options. Costs are £25 to £45 per month including solutions.
- Multifocal lenses
To give vision at reading and near /far distances from £30 to £50 per month including solutions. There are many options to choose from depending on your eyes and eyesight, so you may require several appointments and trials before the best option for you is decided.
