Contact Lenses for Children
Older children and teenagers can wear contact lenses if considered suitable by the optometrist. The child/teenager must be aware of the high level of care required to keep their lenses clean and safe, and also the need for regular check ups to keep their eyes healthy.
Parental/guardian support is vital here.
Options include extended wear lenses that can be put in and worn 24 hours a day - simply put them in and forget about them - they only need changing once a month, so are very easy care.
